Hey good looking! Yes, I know you are going to go look at my photos first before reading my profile. No, no, it’s fine. . . I’ll wait. . . OK you are back now? Great! While you keep reading the rest of my profile, I’m going to go make a sandwich. Give me a shout back when you are done so I can explain that last picture. . . For me, travel is romance and adventure rolled into one. There is something breathtaking about stepping onto a plane in a modern city of skyscrapers and freeways and stepping off mere hours later into a city of ancient cathedrals, narrow cobblestone roads, steamy crowded markets and tiny theaters. While I love a white sandy beach at an all-inclusive resort, the real adventure for me is exploring places that your average tourist passes up. My idea of real romance is for me to pick you up after work, not tell you where we are going until we drive far up into the mountains to a deserted campsite. Under the stars we’ll build a small fire in the still night air, the silence broken only by the odd owl hooting in the distance and the pop of an opening bottle of champagne. After we set up the tent we’ll discover that there is only one sleeping bag. . . Oops! While I’ve never taken a cooking class and mom only set me up with meatloaf and pot roast, I take pride in my self taught culinary skills. A good third of the books I own are cookbooks. Canard a l’orange, lamb souvlaki, Kraft Dinner & hot dogs. . . you name it, I can cook it. And if I can’t? Well there are lots of good restaurants near my house instead.
